The other day I was in Target and spotted these cute little flip flops -- I had to have a pair for summer.

I had an assignment today -- to take a couple photos of some local people.  One of the people I met had an awesome Studebaker.  I even got a ride in it!

A few weeks ago I found this in the woods.

When I walk by the maple tree these days, I feel like I am being watched.  In a little while I will be able to toss these in the air and watch them -- helicopter down to the ground.

Lots of rain on this Saturday.  This is a photo of the float hearts in the pond between storms/showers.

Sadie and a friend are getting a much needed drink at the dog park in Peachtree City.

I planted tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, cucumbers, etc. today -- rain is coming!

Today we had some nice April showers.  Here is the water oak showing off its new fresh spring leaves.  There are so green -- they look juicy!

I was on the phone for a bit today.  While on the phone I was sitting near a cabinet that holds a lot of things I brought home from my grandmothers' homes.  This is on the bottom shelf.  I keep looking at them while I was on the phone.  As soon as I got off, I got out the tripod and took a few photos.

With all the talk of nature photos and Trust properties this weekend -- Nature Undisturbed photography exhibit -- I headed over to Sams Lake this evening and this is one of my favorites.

Saturday afternoon I had a student -- we were working on macro.  This is a macro I shot while showing my super secret technique.  Next Saturday I am presenting a workshop at the Serenbe Photography Center with Kathryn Kolb on macro.

Sadie is looking at me with a serious face.  I tried to take a few more photos -- but she had nothing to do with it after this one.

Very shallow depth of field -- again -- the tail light on the Volvo.

Down at the edge of the woods tonight I picked this as a favorite photo today.  Things are super busy this week.  Finalizing tax junk, errands, and Nature Undisturbed's opening reception Friday.  More events detailed at the website -- if you are in the area -- please come!

Out running errands -- sitting at a stop light on GA85.

Yesterday I spotted some Carolina Jasmine blooming up in the trees in the woods behind the house.  The light was all wrong when I saw it.  This morning -- early -- I came back to get a couple shots. This was the best of a handful.  Not great -- but I like the bright spring green, the golden yellow and the gray of the tree trunk.

Today I spent part of the morning at a car show.  At the show I met Vern and his dog Lucy.  I liked Lucy -- she reminded me of Rosebud.

The chokecherries from day 96 are blooming now.  Shooting these at the edge of the woods late in the day gave a nice color -- add using the tungsten white balance setting -- and you have a soft blue and a bit of green with the tiny white blooms.  The photo was taken using my Lensbaby and the macro attachment.

Today was a fun day.  The juror for Nature Undisturbed came to the gallery to choose the winning photos.  It was awesome to spend most of the day with Lucinda Bunnen and get her thoughts on the photos.  Opening reception is April 16 at 6pm.  Visit www.natureundisturbed.com for the full schedule of events.

The chokecherry in full bud.  There are a lot of these at the edge of the woods.  I like the bokeh created by the buds in the background.

Macro of the sweet gum tree in the front yard.  Baby leaves are budding out and the bugs are out too.

I went out to the pond this afternoon to see if the fish were doing anything interesting -- I did not see any -- that is concerning.  It makes me wonder if the garter snake I saw this week is eating the fish -- or what about the frogs?  Are they eating the fish?  A heron?   I peeked out a few minutes ago and saw a few.  Maybe earlier today it was too bright?  too warm? too noisy with all the lawnmowers going in the neighborhood?

Anyway -- the water level was a little low -- so I added some.

Today I drove over to Serenbe to pick up some photos I had hanging at the Serenbe Photography Center -- their instructor's show last month. On the way home I saw this field with the horses grazing.

No April fooling -- the cherry blossoms are perfect right now!

March Mosaic

Here is the March mosaic.  It is hard to believe that 3 months are done -- 90 days in a row a photo.  I will be the first to admit that a lot of them are not so hot.  It is getting a little easier to do this.  I am forcing myself to bring the camera along most of the time.  When I don't have it; I usually wish I did.  April is going to be a busy month with the photo show -- Nature Undisturbed 2010 opening and all the events.  Also in April I am scheduled to do a workshop at the Serenbe Photography Center with Kathryn Kolb -- that should be great fun!

So one-fourth of the year is done -- this next quarter will take me from spring into summer.  Plenty of floral macro shots coming your way!
