I have been thinking for a while that Sadie needed a playmate.  Early Friday morning we headed to our local animal shelter and found Iris.  Well, she had no name -- but we think she looks like an Iris.  Sadie is thrilled and wants to play -- Iris is still trying to figure out who the heck we are!

Today was my grandmother's birthday.  Even though we lost her a few years ago -- I think about her often.

The little silver looking thing ran when I blew slightly on this.  I think it killed the black and yellow agriope spider that I had been watching for the past few weeks.  The blob out of focus is the skeleton of the spider -- it looks like it had just shed prior to being killed.

Today I am pumping gas and look across the street -- this is what I see.  I liked the row of different chairs.

Virginia shelling peas from our weekly CSA (community supported agriculture) box.  This week there were lots of goodies -- tomatoes, peppers, corn, squash and even a small watermelon!  Support local farms -- check for a CSA group in your area.
